REGULATIONS

Applicants will qualify for the event only if:
 
1. they meet the requirements for one of the categories
2. they submit their application by February 28th, 2014
3. they pay the entrance fee 50 EUR solo player, 50 EUR ensemble
(on the day of competition)
 
Division of the competition:
 
A. Solo Play of bowed string instruments
B. Chamber Play for duets and quartets of bowed string instruments
 
Assesment 
 
The Jury will decide:
- in single round competition results by number of points
- in two round competition qualification to second round by number of points
- by adding points from both rounds overall results of the competitors
The Jury will decide the overall results according to the final scores and will award
 
Rewards
 
A. Solo Play
 
All participants will receive diploma for participation.
• The main prize - material prize, performance with State Chamber Orchestra Žilina
• I. prize: material prize, possibility to perform at the concert with the orchestra in the year 2015, jury will nominate
• II. prize: material prize
• III. prize: material prize
• IV. and other places: diploma with position
• The prize for the competitor from Slovakia with the maximum of points
• The prize of Art AIR Center - performance at International festival „Kubínska hudobná jeseň 2015“
• The prize Musica Arvenzis - free of charge participation at the international master classes
• The prize for the Best Teacher
• The prize for the Best Accompanist
• The prize for performance of work by Slovak composer
• The prize for performance of work by the 20th and 21st century composer
 
B. Chamber play
 
• The main prize  – performance at International festival „Kubínska hudobná jeseň 2015“
• The prize for the best Slovak ensemble
• The prize of  Mikuláš Zmeškal for the best bow string quartet
 
The Jury may decide not to award certain prizes or award others.

1st category – year of birth 2004 and younger
A single round competition
Optional repertoire lasting up to 8 min.

2nd category – year of birth 2001 and younger
I.round: M. Schneider – Trnavský : Sonata for violin and pianor op.12 g minor – Adagio, Scherzo
II.round: optional repertoire lasting up to 10 min.

3rd category – year of birth 1998 and younger
I.round: Ch.de Bériot - Variations op.1 No.1 d minor – without 5th variation, without repetitio                                                                                      II.round: optional repertoire lasting up to 14 min.
